The Heritage Darwin

I have screenshots showing comments posted by the two owners on their own establishment, which I believe were meant to raise its Google rating artificially, as well as comments on the page from staff members. I also have screenshots as proof that you marked the establishment “temporarily closed” to stop former clients from posting reviews. Former clients have now spoken up about the same situation I experienced. I kept screenshots of reviews that were published and then deleted to polish your image. I hope this comment won't be removed like the earlier ones. As for my own experience, the owner was disrespectful, I felt pressured at check-in, and I was charged an exorbitant tourist tax. I was alone and it was late at night, so I felt forced to pay because I feared I wouldn't find another place to stay during my Darwin visit. The facts and evidence are there.

The room was simple, but clean and had everything we needed. The location is great, and the man at reception welcomed us warmly and was very kind and helpful. Private parking was a nice bonus. A real gem in Darwin, we'd absolutely recommend it and come back.

The room was filthy, so I changed accommodation. The bathroom was dirty, tissues were left in the bin, the floor was filthy, there was a toothbrush on top of the shower, hairs on the vanity and toilet, and sticky glass rings on the side table. There was no top sheet, which they said was normal for the hotel. The manager offered to change rooms but didn't apologize for the state of this one. Several earlier comments mention poor room hygiene, so management should address this ongoing problem. It was also confusing that Heritage and H on Mitchell are owned by the same corporation and you collect keys from H on Mitchell. Very poor experience, and I wouldn't recommend staying until they sort out their service.

We didn't research it before booking, and this place was too noisy for us. Cars were doing burnouts up and down the streets, and kids were screaming in the next room. We left in the middle of the night, also worried that our car wasn't safe outside. There was no parking available when we arrived. Not for us.
