On a sunny day the place has a great vibe and a really nice location. The big rocks are reassuring too, given the possibility of another run-over. But the food was overpriced, the drinks too, and the service left us feeling unwelcome. We left after just one pint and probably won't come back. It was irritating having to go all the way to the bar to order at a hotel. Even the waiting staff would walk around telling customers to order there. I could understand that at a small, cheap-menu restaurant, but not here. They did ask if we wanted more drinks, though that felt like upselling for revenue rather than actual customer care. I ordered a Parma priced about as high as a steak. It came with salad, but a handful of multicoloured shredded lettuce isn't really salad. Maybe call it Parma and lettuce. A salad usually has basic things like cucumber and tomato too.

The food is excellent, but this one bad experience was enough to make me lose trust and decide not to return. A staff member behind the bar seemed new, flustered, and unsure what he was doing. I hadn't seen him taking orders there before. He overcharged us for sauce that came with the meal. When we asked about it, he ummed and erred, then refunded us without saying sorry or anything. We'd always had good service and no problems before, but it only takes one glitch. Never again.

I booked without reading the details carefully and expected a hotel, but it turned out to be a share house. That mistake worked out wonderfully. This was one of the most unique and lovely places I've stayed. Owner Annie was professional, attentive, and lovely, making sure we had what we needed. The decor was my favourite part. It felt like staying in a museum, and as someone who's a bit OCD, I appreciated how thoughtfully every detail, from the footstools to the bed covers, was chosen. The place felt like stepping into another world, much quirkier and more fun than a hotel. Thanks for a memorable stay.

Right in the heart of Daylesford, this was a lovely place to stay. Annie recommended dinner at The Perfect Drop, and it was incredible. Everything was clean and tidy. The bathrooms are shared except for the room with an ensuite, but that wasn't a problem for us. The late 11am checkout was a bonus, and we'd stay again.

You can walk to all the main places in Daylesford from here, and it was very good value for money. Annie was so friendly and informative, with a list of recommendations, and she made our experience great. She's done an amazing job.
