After another long day of work on Day 2, I came back to find the heating on again for me. The room was comfortable, with lovely pillows, and the birdlife by the river is amazing. I arrived late on a very cold evening after eight hours of driving, and the owner had already turned on the heat. She’d noticed that the people in the neighbouring room were a loud couple who smoked, so she moved me to a quiet room with wonderful heating. It was such a relief, and very thoughtful of the owners. Highly recommend this place!

The retro feel of the restaurant made the place special, quite different from lots of others. We had a lovely dinner, with excellent lamb and local winery wine, served on time even though a thunderstorm had caused a power cut. We arrived tired after a long journey, and the owners made us feel welcome from the start. We liked it enough to stay one night longer than planned. Thanks to Frank and Di for giving us such warm memories of Australian hospitality to take to the other side of the world. October 2012

The restaurant serves excellent meals, and the older-style rooms are always clean. They aren’t large, but they’re comfortable. Five stars for the location overlooking the Edwards River.

The room was so hot, and the air con was completely useless. The walls were still hot at 4am, that’s how little they’d cooled down. The bed was very small too. I wouldn’t stay there again.
