Hunchy Hideaway

We had a lovely, comfortable three night stay at Hunchy Hideaway in the Jasmine rainforest cottage. There’s no phone or internet at the property. I enjoyed being disconnected, though I can see how that might be hard for some. We arrived to a thoughtful supply of things for our stay: bread, eggs, bacon, Nespresso coffee, milk and yoghurt. The deck was a favourite, especially in the afternoon. Surrounded by rainforest, birds and wildlife, with a beautiful sunset, it felt peaceful and relaxing, almost as if we were the only ones there. The waterfall on the property was another lovely surprise. It was incredible having it to ourselves, if you don’t mind a bit of a challenge getting there. The location is fantastic, close to Montville centre and its cafes. Thanks so much for having us. We had a great weekend and would highly recommend it.

I spent two nights here, close to the rainforest, and had a beautiful, relaxing stay. In the evenings, sitting in the whirlpool and listening to the rainforest animals was a unique experience. The rooms were modern and very clean, and the couple running the accommodation were incredibly friendly and helpful. I’d love to come back and can wholeheartedly recommend it. Nature lovers, whether travelling as a couple or on their own, will find just what they’re looking for.

The country setting was lovely, and having breakfast outside while listening to birds and cows was a real treat. We often put food out for a possum, though it eventually stopped visiting. There were more spiders than I’d like, but the two geckos on the living room ceiling helped with nearby ones, and a rainforest town is bound to have spiders. My husband and I spent a week here and found it cozy, private, and perfect for a romantic, relaxing break. The owners made us feel welcome and stocked the fridge with milk, eggs, butter, bacon, and yoghurt. Jack went above and beyond. I didn’t meet Lana, but I’m sure she would too. We’ll be back.

After seven nights at Fig Tree Cottage at Hunchy Hideaway, my wife and I left feeling calm and refreshed. We needed a break from our high-pressure lives, and this quiet, peaceful place made it easy to lose track of time. Montville, Maleny, and Nambour were charming and had all the supplies we needed.
