I was here for two work nights. The studio was lovely, with a nice view of the pool and the beach super close by. The stairs were a challenge with a bag, though. One of the nicest Thai places is just around the corner. 😎👍

Apartment 45 was on the top floor, facing the road, so there was some noise. The view faced a huge grey mansion that looked like a library. Inside, the unit had fresh paint and was very comfortable. The main drawbacks were the two slightly uncomfortable two-seater couches and a small 32-inch TV that wasn't a smart TV, so there were limited channels. I thought all the units had cable, but this one didn't. Everything else was fine, including the pool, and I enjoyed my short break.

Thanks, Portobello by the Sea, you outdid yourselves. The room was immaculately clean, the cleanest I've ever stayed in. Shops and the beach were close, and everything was within walking distance. We stayed two nights and will definitely return.

The location was perfect and I loved this hotel. With three small children, though, I found it a bit stressful that the windows, doors and building railings were missing security screens and proper locks. I'd like to see those made safer.

The kids especially loved the beautiful pool, and we'll make Portobello our regular choice for annual holidays. It's a marvellous spot, close to everything, with good takeaway food, a chemist and a grocery store nearby, plus a short stroll to a magnificent, safe beach.
