The restaurant was a real highlight. Dinner was thoughtful, tasty, and generously portioned, with fair prices and friendly, quick service. For a remote spot, it went well beyond what we expected. Our clean, comfortable cabin also felt at home among the trees, and the rainforest sounds made it easy to settle in. Heritage Lodge sits in the Daintree Rainforest beside a lovely creek with two natural swimming holes. We enjoyed a refreshing swim there, and the lodge pool was welcome on hot days. There’s no phone reception, and free Wi-Fi is only available at the restaurant. We actually liked being disconnected and having time to take in the quiet and scenery. A peaceful, comfortable nature stay with great food.

Vicki, Denise, and Teo were so helpful and lovely to deal with. The restaurant was another nice surprise, with complimentary continental breakfast and a full lunch and dinner menu. The food was impressive for such a remote lodge. We spent 2 nights in a family cabin and loved it. It was roomy and comfortable, with A/C, a mini fridge, and coffee and water provided. The reception lodge was only a 2-minute walk away, and had free Wi-Fi if you need to reconnect. Otherwise, the rainforest setting is wonderfully tucked away from the world. Definitely a hidden gem.

The room was a little dirty, with a streak of old blood on the bathroom sink. Apart from that, we had a lovely stay and will definitely return. The Daintree rainforest setting is wonderful, the staff were super friendly and accommodating, and a beautiful creek a short walk from the hotel pool made us feel immersed in the surroundings.

We stopped for lunch and a swim while on a tour. I needed to send an urgent message, but had no service, so I asked to use the WiFi I’d spotted. They said it was “guests only,” although we’d just paid them for services. I can’t speak to what it’s like to stay at the hotel, but if this reflects their usual hospitality, I wouldn’t stay there or support the business.

We found the location handy for day trips, and the staff were helpful. The reception area and restaurant have working internet. The cabins are a little old, but they were clean and it didn’t bother us. It was very tranquil, and the swimming holes were a bonus. The restaurant food was a shame, though, bland and not cheap. I’d eat somewhere else.
