The Priory Hotel

The balcony made a lovely breakfast spot, once we’d made it up the vintage stairs. There’s no real reception, so you check in at the bar with cheerful locals. The beds were really comfy, which came in handy after five minutes in this place apparently gave you crippling depression. The room had the smell of generations before us, like lovely afternoons with my dying grandmother. At first the ghosts were a bit inconvenient, but we made friends with one, and she showed us gems hidden in the general rubbish around the hotel. The tourist attractions nearby were as energizing as the hotel. It’s a MUST MUST MUST. Still, it was a fun experience. The hotel was clean, and free coffee, tea and water were provided.

The staff were very friendly, and our German Shepherd came along with us. The room was nice and clean. We enjoyed dinner at the restaurant, where our dog got to meet some other doggy friends. It was absolutely wonderful, and we’re definitely going again 😄

For the price I paid, I was very happy with what I got. It’s a nice old building, and I had a comfortable bed and a hot shower. Renovations are clearly underway, though more work is needed, especially in the car park.

The old buildings are lovely and the location is great, but the accommodation was dirty and run down. I was very disappointed. The living room rug, for example, was filthy and would be easy to replace. A lot of maintenance and a really good clean are needed.
