The windows, the views, the lovely condiments and all the little touches made this place spectacular. We fell for it the moment we walked in, and it's now one of our favourite places anywhere in the world. We've travelled a lot around Australia and overseas, and this was one of the absolute highlights of our Tasmania trip. We'll definitely be back.

What a beautiful place for a family stay, with a truly spectacular view. The house was so well maintained, and had everything we needed and more. I was lucky to stay at Quarry Hill Lookout with my family, and it's on my wish list to return one day.

Dog friendly too, and even if you don't have a dog, the place is so pristinely clean you'd never know one had been there. Quarry Hill really was perfect, and the pictures don't do it justice. It's in a great area with lots to explore, and we're already hoping to return soon. Communication was terrific, and on arrival the fire was going, music was playing and a birthday cake was waiting for my husband's birthday. There was everything we could want, all great quality. We usually bring our own glasses and knives because they're often poor quality, but there was no need here. The two BBQs are on different verandas, so the wind doesn't affect them. I could go on and on, but really, do yourself a favour and go.

From the luxurious main bed, you can lift your head and take in the whole bay. My wife and I stayed for three nights in November, and the beautiful house, scenery and views made it an absolutely fantastic visit.

Quarry Hill Lookout is a comfortable, relaxing and very well appointed house in the heart of Dover, with beautiful views and an easy walk down to the esplanade track along the coast and sandy beaches. It's a luxurious place to settle in, and the wood fire keeps things toasty in winter. We used it as a base to enjoy the deep south of Tassie. There's plenty to do nearby, including Ida Bay railway, Hastings caves, Cockle Creek and Tahune airwalk, plus fantastic food at Masaakis sushi - Geeveston, and Sass restaurant - Kermandie. Highly recommended.
