The food is fantastic, as always, but the seating really let us down. When you book online, you can choose the bistro or the front bar. We picked the bistro, only to be put at a high table on bar stools in the corridor to the kitchen, right outside the toilet doors. We’ve been here many times, and if I’d known we’d be sitting on the same stools as in the public bar, I’d have gone somewhere else. We usually order a couple of cocktails after dinner, but this time we just wanted to get home and sit comfortably. If the bistro’s full, they should say so instead of booking people into awful tables.

The meals are very affordable and generous, and the menu is great. The staff are friendly, professional, and always smiling, with service that’s second to none. We drive over an hour to come to this pub for a meal. It really is that good.

My husband and I had dinner here recently, and the food was amazing. The atmosphere was lovely, prices were reasonable, and the staff were welcoming and professional. Couldn’t recommend the place more!

The Gentleman was the standout dish for me, a delicious combination of flavours. It was our first visit, and we were greeted with a smile. The service was excellent, the food just as good, and there was a great choice of dishes. Highly recommended, and we’ll be back.

We came for lunch on Thursday and were greeted warmly by the staff. There were lots of other retired people there for the weekday lunch. The seniors meal was good, and there was a good selection of drinks.
