Atlas Motel

The bed made me nervous before I even tried to lie down. Who knows what was lurking in those sheets? And one pillow per guest, seriously? I've had better support from a wet paper bag. The bathroom had grasshoppers in it, while the table was so sticky it might as well have been a fly trap. Reception had a smell like some ancient curry had been simmering there since the 1980s. My nostrils may never recover. There was barely a sliver of soap, nowhere near enough for me, and the mini-fridge looked about a thousand years old. It felt like a horror movie crossed with a dodgy backpacker hostel. If you want a story for the pub, give it a go. If you want clean, comfortable accommodation or a decent night's sleep, maybe try the local caravan park.

We booked two nights through Agoda, but checked out after the first and found somewhere else. There are plenty of other places to stay in Dubbo. The room was grimy and disgusting, with a sticky table, a bathroom in awful condition, and a broken door. The website photos looked nothing like the room we got, and seemed as if they might have been taken 20 years ago. Definitely wouldn't recommend it.

I stay at Atlas regularly and can usually get a room at the last minute, probably because it's a larger motel. The rooms are clean and tidy, though they could use some care and updating.

The family room cost too much. A friend travelling alone got what looked like the same room for half the price. We asked for a refund and still haven't heard back. The place was dirty, smelly, and falling apart inside and out. Wouldn't recommend.
