The front desk lady was welcoming, and the staff were good all round. The bed seemed good, the aircon worked well, and it wasn’t loud considering the rooms are above the pub. There are shared bathrooms, and the rooms are utilitarian, sparse and a bit unwelcoming, though they do the job. I found a band aid and rubbish in the drawers, and there was a faint tobacco smell. No windows open. The kitchen area is very minimal and worn. It’s an OK area, but I’d still put your things somewhere safe.

Had lunch with friends in a pleasant setting. The beer selection was good and the staff were friendly. The Thai Beef Salad was the letdown, though. It was more like beef jerky with salad and sauce, a presentation I’ve never seen before and hope not to see again.

Dinner was great, with five meals ordered together and plenty of drinks. The playground and beer garden were great too. The room was a different story, with holes in the wall near the bed where my 5 year old slept. Wi-Fi was free in the pub, but didn’t work in the rooms. I’ll need to be in Dubbo for a few nights in a few months, but won’t book this again.

The staff were very lovely, and in Room 6 I had no complaints. It was clean, the bathroom was clean, and the shower was the best. Good water pressure, plus a fridge, coffee, tea, milk and TV. I’ll definitely come back. Unfortunately, I didn’t try the food.

This has happened multiple times: I order here and they forget the gravy. I just drove 15 minutes home and found three gravies missing. It’s not the worst, but I do expect to get what I paid for. $67 for two burgers and cheese and bacons bread, with three gravies missing.
