The pool and grounds were gorgeous, and the receptionist made me feel so welcome. She was lovely and really helpful arranging a water taxi to Dunk Island when I didn't have much time. They were painting the place while I was there, so I imagine it looks even lovelier now. I had a great experience!

The owners still remember me even when five years have gone by. I wish I had a memory like theirs! The staff and owners are some of the best people I've met, and this is easily one of the best hostels I've stayed at anywhere. I can't praise it enough, and I'll stay there whenever I'm passing through.

We only had one night in a double room and wished we could have stayed longer. The place had recently been renovated, everything was really clean, and the kitchen was so much cleaner than any other hostel kitchen we'd seen. Staff were friendly and helpful. It's a relaxed place rather than a party hostel, so you can actually enjoy some quiet time. Great for a few nights or a longer stay, and we'd recommend it to anyone travelling to Mission Beach.

The bedroom was awful too, with hairs all over our bedding and an extremely thin mattress that seemed about 30 years old. There were dead insects in the bathroom, ants walking around, and smelly toilets. Food froze in the fridges because they were so cold, and flies swarmed the bins. Reception staff showed up whenever they felt like it, and they didn't book tours correctly. Don't stay here.
