We had a spectacular view, and the retreat was clean and comfortable. The bed was so good that being away from home felt easy. One oven wasn't working, which made cooking for 18 a bit difficult, but it didn't spoil the stay. We'll definitely come back.
Mark, our host, went well beyond what we'd expected to make our wedding night special. Before check-in, he lent my husband a belt and our groomsmen cufflinks, which saved the day. When we got back from the reception, a hot bath was waiting, and there was a lovely breakfast the next morning. Couldn't recommend Breathe Retreat more highly.
They take your money and, in many cases, never provide the service they advertise. They need 50% upfront, often paid by cash or credit more than 90 days ahead, so there's no card company safety net. They cancel at the last minute, leave no paper trail, and try to keep the money. I'm glad some bookings go ahead to make them look legitimate, but don't book with this company. Save your money.
They took a $2500 deposit, which was 50%, and now I can't get in touch with him. According to the ASIC, Breathe Retreat PTY LTD appears to have been deregistered. There was barely any paper trail, and Stayz had no record of the transaction. VERY DODGY. DO NOT BOOK!
We are still waiting for the owner to return my calls about the bond, and I'm not hopeful. It's been 3 weeks and around 50 excuses, with no bond refund yet. The owner is dodgy and keeps no paper trail. The oven doesn't work, so trying to feed 18 people was no fun. The fireplace doesn't work either. Biggest scam ever, DO NOT BOOK!!!
