There’s a peaceful little sanctuary here, even though you’re in the heart of Melbourne, close to events, clubs and rooftop bars. The rooms have been beautifully upgraded and are clearly cared for, with the owners’ heart in the details. I’ve heard there are lovely positive changes coming this year and next. A place you can fall in love with. Can’t wait to stay here again!
The rooms were tidy, clean and extremely comfortable, and the service was great. I thoroughly enjoyed my stay and the location was fantastic. I’m looking forward to coming back on my next visit to Melbourne. Highly recommend.
A great little find. My upstairs room had a front balcony, and the design was cool. It was clean and in a standout spot just off the main strip. I’d definitely recommend it.
The house has charming character and a welcoming, friendly feel. Staff were always helpful and really nice, and the kitchen stayed clean. It’s close to Chapel Street, an easy walk away and even visible from my cute little balcony. That also meant I needed a night or two to get used to the roaring engines, squealing tyres and people partying late. Bring earplugs or ask for a room at the back, and you can have a great stay for a reasonable price. A bedside lamp or a hook for hanging a towel would have been a nice extra.
I had a really bad experience with Mr. Tim, the guy managing this hostel. I planned to move into a private bedroom apartment, sent in all the paperwork requirements for the lease, and he cancelled it with a clear “NO.” I asked normal questions about the rooms, but he started saying I’d said things I hadn’t and rejected my application. I tried calling and speaking politely, but he got aggressive and shouted at me. I hope the hostel owner hears about this so other travellers and people staying there don’t go through the same thing.
