The house had everything we needed to be comfortable during our five-night stay on KI in September. Herb was such a gracious host. In the evenings we loved walking to see the local penguins, and spotted a resident koala napping in the trees between the house and the beach.

Herb was friendly and full of local information, and we had a great time. Searenity is quiet, comfortable, well equipped, and has terrific views. We booked directly through Searenity’s website, and communication was excellent. After our recent stay, all those five-star reviews make sense.

We stayed in the house for three nights in late April 2025. Herb's knowledge of the island was a big help, and we had a wonderful experience. We wanted for nothing in this comfortable, well-appointed place, with stunning views over beautiful Emu Bay. At dusk, kangaroos even hopped past the door. Many thanks to Herb and Janette, such consummate hosts for our fantastic Kangaroo Island holiday. We'll be back!

Emu Bay has a special place in our hearts now, and James and I hope to return. We were lucky to spend three nights at Searenity Apartment, which was lovely. Seeing the penguins and catching some mega squid off the jetty were highlights. Thanks for your hospitality, Janette and Herb!
