Even with freezing rain outside, the house felt warm and comfortable, with central heating and a roaring wood fire in the lounge. The bed was really comfortable too, with plenty of warm bedding. Leon was welcoming and looked after us well, and breakfast was generous. We had a very enjoyable stay.

The nearest town for groceries or restaurants is a drive away, so you'll need a car. That said, the property was peaceful and beautiful, and Leon made us feel at home. The kitchen had everything we needed to cook, and the continental breakfast was generous. Since no one else was staying that night, he even upgraded our room at no charge on our drive back to Melbourne from the Great Ocean Road. Thoughtful touches throughout, and nothing felt missing.

We went to see Ballarat and stayed a couple of nights. The room was very clean, with a king-sized bed and a handy little bathroom area, plus TV and WiFi. The owner greeted us warmly, showed us around, and had breakfast and coffee ready both mornings with lots of choices. Kim and I had a great stay, couldn't fault the service, and would happily come back. Highly recommend this place. -Luke

It's quiet and peaceful out of town, and the place is really comfortable. Leon is a wonderful host. We enjoyed chatting with the other guests, though there's no pressure to socialize. A great place to stay.

The room was spacious and nicely decorated, and everything was super clean, quiet, and comfortable. Leon was welcoming, friendly, and helpful without hovering. It felt like staying with a friend. For the price, it's hard to beat, and would be a steal at twice as much. We saw lots of kangaroos by sitting on the deck and looking into the back paddock.
