We enjoyed our time at the property, and the accommodation itself was decent, but the issues with the host left us feeling treated like bandits. Communication was entirely online, which was fine at first. The evening before checkout she messaged to ask when we’d leave. I didn’t see it straight away because I was with family and wasn’t checking my phone constantly. Checkout was listed as 11 AM, and we left by 10. I replied the next day, and she took it the wrong way. Isn’t that part of online hosting? The room had a microwave, toaster, kettle, fridge, and basic dishes and cutlery. There was no shared kitchen, though the listing mentioned a kitchen. Those things let us make simple food like toast, but we weren’t told the house rules for rubbish or dishes, or where to get spare rubbish bags. The bins were full, so we weren’t sure what to do and tried to make do. There were crumbs because we had children, and some dishes with food left on them. We left the food on the plates rather than throwing it on the carpet, as the host claimed. We’d paid for cleaning, which usually means guests don’t have to clean everything themselves. Afterwards I was shocked to see the host’s booking-site review, which claimed there were torn sheets, food spills on the carpet, food thrown around, and that we’d spilled things without intending to clean up. Those conclusions were all wrong. We’re absolutely not that kind of people. She also said the room amenities were only for basic snacking. If that’s the expectation, I’d suggest removing the toaster and fridge, or clearly explaining that eating in the room isn’t allowed when advertising a kitchen. I asked for evidence of the alleged food and pills on the carpet. I genuinely don’t know of any pills there. The photos were unclear and looked more like a rubbed patch in the carpet than food spills. Maybe our snowboard bags caused it. I also asked for proof of torn sheets, since we only slept in the beds, and why we were expected to vacuum and clean the whole room after paying for cleaning. The host didn’t answer my questions. Instead, she charged an extra $100 to my AMEX card, without a word, agreement, or explanation. That felt unfair and unprofessional. Bluntly, it felt like stealing. For future guests, clear directions on rubbish bags and cleaning supplies would help, as would saying whether guests need to clean before leaving when cleaning is included in the room cost. The food rules should also be spelled out if the kitchen is really only for basic snacks. We had no bad intentions and were respectful guests, but the host’s behavior was disappointing. There was no kindness, clear communication, or attempt to understand and resolve things together. A more balanced and approachable manner matters in hospitality. This is saddening. Maybe someone else would be better suited to the role, and DISC profiling could help.

Georgie was so sweet and flexible when we had trouble with our coach heading up to Falls and some last-minute changes. The rooms were warm and very clean, and the drying rooms, boot rooms and breakfast were all great. Silverski is close to the free village shuttle, which made getting to the lifts much easier, and it’s also about a five-minute walk or ride. We’ll book again when we visit Falls Creek.

We came for the summer ignition event and found the rooms clean and a good size. It was easy to get our bikes sorted, and riding to and from the trails was straightforward. The coffee in the room was good quality, which we really appreciated. I’d happily stay here in either summer or winter.

Georgie and the other staff looked after my partner and me so well, and were very flexible and accommodating. Our room stayed at just the right temperature, had a modern layout and great amenities, and the location was ideal. Silverski was the perfect base for our snowboarding trip. Thanks for the lovely service and stay, we’ll be back.

We liked it so much that we added another night while we were there. Georgie, the owner, was friendly and helpful throughout. The penthouse had lots of space, a lovely hot tub, and a kitchen with everything we needed for simple meals. Highly recommend.
