Vandenberg Hotel Forbes

We’ve visited a couple of times over the last few years, and the service has been five star every time. The owners are friendly and helpful, and go out of their way for you. The food is beautiful and the atmosphere is friendly too. We’ll be back next time we’re out that way.

During the Elvis Festival, seven of us tried seven different dishes from the menu. Every meal was fantastic, and the prices were very attractive. Highly recommended if you’re in Forbes.

The food was the surprise: much better than typical pub fare, with genuinely good options. The staff were friendly, the service fantastic, and the team had a cheerful, family oriented way of making us feel refreshed from the drive. The place was relaxing, with genuine smiles all around. We usually drive long distances through Forbes without stopping, but this time we dropped into the Vandenberg Hotel for a quick lunch. It had been ages since our last stop, and we didn’t know what to expect. It’ll be on our rest stop plans from now on.

The manager’s response when we asked for a refund was, “If he didn't die, I can't help with the refund.” I’d paid in full, but a medical emergency sent me to the ER and meant I had to return home immediately. To be met with that kind of hostility during a health crisis was unacceptable. The rooms were old, noisy and smelled foul when we arrived. Between those conditions and the manager’s heartless response, I strongly advise people to stay far away.
