The beach is only a short walk from the property, and I’d love to come back. We stayed in Ocean View #66, which was amazing. Each room runs parallel to the beach, so the layout feels unusual in a good way. The bed was really comfortable, the A/C helped with the hot afternoon sun, and having a bathtub on the outside deck was lovely.

We really enjoyed the hot tub bath and the complimentary wine in our cabin. It was such a peaceful, luxurious place to stay, and breakfast was amazing too. There are some great walks nearby, including the beach walk across to Coles Bay. We also drove down the road to the Wineglass Bay lookout. Highly recommend.

Being close to the lobby, restaurant, and laundry made the accessible Lodge King, room 80, really convenient. It was spacious, had great views, and the minibar drinks were included. The staff were great and we loved the restaurant. A very memorable stay. This is the only resort with a private jetty where the Wineglass Bay cruise boat will pick you up. Just ask reception to let the cruise company know :)

This is about the service, not the rooms. For an upmarket property, we expected more care from the staff. No one was rude, but getting a coffee was needlessly confusing, and we felt like we were the inconvenience. The downstairs bar was closed, though three staff were behind it chatting and apparently getting ready to open later. They told us to go to the bistro, but there was nobody there. We waited, then asked at reception where we could get coffee. Kylie explained that the bistro was empty, so the receptionist came along. At first, she seemed a little aloof and mildly condescending, insisting staff were there. She then took Kylie outside and around to another dining area on an outer deck, which wasn’t obvious or signposted. A friendly, simple direction would have sorted it out: the bar was closed, and we should go outside to the balcony and around to the right. Instead, we got very little help. We’re travelling here for 11 weeks, and two sets of friends and my elderly mother are visiting Tasmania over the next month. We initially suggested this property, but there are too many genuinely welcoming places in Tasmania for us to recommend it now or return.

The rooms were okay, though our family suite wasn’t amazing. The dining room and lounge were great, and while the kitchen could be a little slow, the food was good. The lodge is deep within the national park, with plenty of wildlife around. The staff were so great, and I can’t speak highly enough of them.
