Being just off Geelong’s waterfront, Edgewater penthouse apartments were close to cafes, restaurants and the city centre, so I didn’t need to keep ordering taxis. There’s also parking if you have a car. I was very happy with my stay and would happily recommend them to anyone visiting Geelong. The apartment itself was modern and spacious, with a comfortable living area and a large TV. The beds were very comfortable, and there was plenty of closet space for hanging clothes. It came with lots of useful amenities, including a cooker, dishwasher, washing machine and dryer. The bathroom was modern, with a walk-in shower, toilet facilities and a hairdryer. My apartment also had a nice balcony. The building has a full gym and swimming pool on the first floor.

The only good part of our stay was being close to the waterfront and restaurants. In the two-bedroom apartment, the shower had black mould, the tables and benches needed wiping down, and I had to rewash the dishes and cutlery. There was no WiFi or top sheet on the beds, and the advertised dryer wasn’t there. We paid a lot to stay. Not happy, stay away.

The beds were comfortable and the place was nicely renovated, but getting in was a hassle. You have to collect the keys at East Geelong park, which is easiest by car or taxi/rideshare. If you arrive as a tourist on public transport and just need a place for the night, this may not suit you. I couldn’t find a WiFi password, and there’s no reception to ask. It may be that there’s no WiFi at all, despite Google saying it’s free.

The view from 401 Edgewater Penthouse is amazing, and it’s such a comfortable, spacious and very clean place to kick back and relax. Shopping and restaurants are conveniently close. We’ll definitely be back.
