The historic building is well maintained and close to the city centre, which worked well for my one-night stay while I was at a nearby concert. There’s very little sound insulation, though. I could hear people talking in the hallway and alarm clocks in other rooms. Most rooms share bathrooms, and there’s also a communal kitchen, dining room and laundry. Onsite parking is limited, around four spots before people have to double park. It didn’t affect my stay, and there’s free untimed street parking during off-peak times.

Being able to walk to Westfield Shopping Center, the beach, Geelong Station and the Botanical Garden was great. I had a really good stay in this antique house and will definitely come back. The interior has an old-school look that’s well put together and maintained, and it felt like stepping into the beginning of the 20th century. Paul, the landlord, clearly has good taste. His accent is deep, so don’t let it fool you when you ring to book. He’s very cool, laid-back and respectful. The house faces two main streets. The double-glazed windows do a good job keeping outside noise down, but trucks can still be heard. If you’re a fussy sleeper, or want quiet, weekends and busy days may be hard because you can also hear people walking down the hall. It’s easy to see why there are so many good reviews on every website.

We booked earlier that day and said we’d arrive late. Everything was ready when we got there, including the heater being on for us. It’s those little things that mean a lot. The owner was very helpful, and it was a delight to stay the night. Thanks again. Please like my review, Kel.

The service was great, and the place was clean and tidy. There was a lovely sense of peace and quiet, with a hint of adventure, right in the bustle of Geelong. The history and elegance are special, and the carpentry is beautiful and elaborate. It exceeded our expectations. Thank you 🙂
