Lakeview Lodge

We keep returning to the Lodge, and this was our 4th stay. Robyn and Peter are lovely, and the homemade raisin toast is delicious. It’s a quiet, beautiful spot out in the bush of Gidgegannup, with lovely, clean country-style rooms and great views of the lake. Noble Falls Tavern and Parkerville Tavern are about a 10min drive away for lunch or dinner. I’d highly recommend it for a couple without kids!!

We paid a premium for a lake-view room, but were put in an addition on the side of the carport. It had just one window, facing away from the lake and down the driveway. There was no lake view at all. The room was very different from the other rooms in the photos, and we were charged the same full price as guests who actually had a lake view. My wife and I only chose this place because we wanted to look out at the trees and lake and enjoy the ambience. We had other nearby options, and wouldn’t have paid the extra money if we’d known we’d be staying in a carport addition. We could have chosen somewhere else, or at least expected to pay a fraction of the full price, if we’d been told the lake-view rooms were booked and this was where we’d be staying. The bed was hard and uncomfortable, the TV was tiny and almost impossible to watch from a distance, and there were no tea towels or dishwashing liquid. There was just one rubbish bin, in the toilet. The price didn’t match the standard of the room. If I’d known what it was like, I’d have spent less on a cabin at a nearby caravan park. I was very disappointed with the accommodation and the charge. If this room is offered to future guests, they should be told clearly that it has no lake view and isn’t like the other rooms in the photos. The price should be substantially lower to reflect the difference in quality.

Once we found it, the room was spacious and the nearby lake was only a short walk away, with ducks wandering around. It was very quiet and peaceful. Finding the place was tricky, though, since there was no sign saying it was lodging. When I called for help, the person sounded a bit abrupt.

It was an easy, short drive from Perth, and everything we needed or wanted to do was only a short drive away. The room was comfortable, the view was pretty, and it’s been peaceful.
