I was offered a long term rental by Jody Redler at $1250pw and made an offer of $1150pw. She said she wouldn’t show it to the owner unless I completed the four page REIQ tenancy application she’d sent, which listed $1250pw. No other agent has asked me to do that. She said everyone had to fill it out so the owner would know about the offer. I didn’t want to ask two references unless I knew the price would be accepted. All she needed to do was email the owner, but she refused. I think owners should hear offers first, and then, if one is accepted, the REIQ form should be completed with the correct rent. Jody had a really arrogant attitude, like she owned the whole development. She ruined a potential deal. I later found units listed on several short stay websites, so I wouldn’t have been interested anyway. She said she had to go to a meeting, then I saw her walking her dogs. Worst agent I’ve dealt with. She ruins deals instead of encouraging them.

There’s always a Bunnings nearby on the Gold Coast, thanks to how well spread out the stores are. The range of home and garden products is superb, and I always come away with something useful. Staff are friendly, know their stuff, and are easy to find when you need help.

We’re having a great time here at the moment. There are three pools, and the heated one never feels cold, even when you first get in. The rooms are beautiful and there’s Foxtel. Also, Rosie is lovely in person.

Everything is very well organized and professionally run. The facilities are great, with three pools, a spa pool, gym, library, two BBQs, meeting rooms, and a marina.
