The beach is directly in front of The Garland, practically your front yard, and our apartment had a marvellous 360 balcony that swept around to overlook the water. It must be one of the biggest balconies on the Southern Coast. There was everything we needed, and the property and complex were among the most resourceful places we’ve stayed. We were in a three-bedroom guest apartment with my parents and in-laws. It was impeccable, if slightly dated, and still of a high standard. Rainbow Bay could use a few more eateries, though there are some a short walk or drive away. The stay itself was flawless, but we were wrongly accused of leaving a stain on a throw in the room my elderly parents used. A previous guest had left it there. My mother hadn’t thought anything of it at check-in and didn’t mention it to the family. The check-in form does say to email about noticeable damage, so report anything you or your family spot when you arrive to avoid being charged for a past guest’s dry cleaning. Despite the disappointing accusation, we’d stay at the Garland again, but we’d check and report every issue more carefully.

We spent a week here and the apartment was well equipped for a stay that long or longer. The views were amazing, and the apartment was beautiful in a prime location. The Garland is one of the best places we’ve stayed in Rainbow Bay, and we’ll definitely return.

I live locally at The Garland in Rainbow Bay, and the rental team are always available and happy to help with anything. The apartments are meticulously clean and well maintained, with fully stocked kitchens that make cooking easy. The spacious self-contained three- and four-bedroom homes have room for comfortable daily life and stunning views of Rainbow Bay Beach and Snapper Rocks. The beach is just across the street, handy for daily walks, swims or surf sessions. The panoramic coastline views are breathtaking, whether you’re having morning coffee or winding down in the evening. As one of the few luxury accommodations in Coolangatta, The Garland offers a high-end coastal lifestyle with comfort, luxury and natural beauty.

The view was something else, and the apartment was amazing, well equipped and spotlessly clean. Management and the team were first class, and nothing was a problem. It’s an easy walk to great eateries. By far the best spot on the Gold Coast, with ample safe swimming for kids at the beach or apartments. It really is a surfers paradise.

You’re self catering, with great views, but this isn’t a resort. The gym is tiny and the pool is small. At $720 a night in peak season, it felt expensive and like we were being ripped off. Don’t expect five-star reviews at that price. There isn’t much choice at Rainbow Bay, so it feels like the owners of these privately owned apartments are being greedy.
