The Hill Apartments

We were there over the Australia Day weekend and couldn’t have been happier. The apartment faced Currumbin Creek and the ocean, and that view knocked our socks off every morning. The kitchen and bathrooms were newly renovated, and the apartment was well appointed. It had a spacious lounge, but we hardly sat there because we kept being drawn to the balcony. Dinner outside was great, with a sea breeze. There are quite a few stairs, hint, it’s called the Hill, but it was still accessible even for me with a bit of a gamy ankle. The creek is a very short walk away and lovely to paddle in, and it’s only about 5-10 minutes farther to the waves. For somewhere near a busy beach and other amenities, being tucked away made the location feel peaceful and just right. There’s a flight path over the area, as there is everywhere in Currumbin. Air traffic is pretty slow right now, so it didn’t really bother us. It starts late and finishes early. Management were friendly, helpful and communicative without being intrusive. If you can, get a higher floor for the impressive views. I think our apartment was number 38, on the third floor, in the lower block nearer the beach. If our view was awesome, I imagine it only gets better higher up. I’d definitely come back.

The unit was clean and tidy, and the views were lovely. It was also close to the main beaches, which made it a nice base for a few days around the Gold Coast.

The view was the one positive, but traffic noise was constant and parking was a joke. Inside, several areas were unclean, especially the bathroom and kitchen, and the internet was completely useless. Management was astonishingly rude and unprofessional. My young daughter had saved her pocket money for weeks to buy jewellery for her mother, then left it behind. When I asked management to check the room, the woman didn't reply and instead said I'd accused the cleaners of stealing, which I had not. She even asked whether the jewellery was real, though I told her that was irrelevant. She was even worse with me because my partner had left an honest review. For an overpriced dump, that treatment was unbelievable. Do yourselves a favour and don't stay here.

Michelle and Peter, the owners, were so friendly and always willing to help. I stayed at the Hill Apartments for almost three weeks and loved my time there, especially the fantastic Gold Coast views. I thoroughly enjoyed it, would definitely come back, and can't recommend the place enough.
