The bed was comfortable, and the linens and towels were clean. The pool, spa and outdoor BBQ were good too. But the apartment was absolutely not worth the price. The photos don’t show its current condition, and there was no air conditioning in the bedroom. I found mouse turds in the closet. The shared areas were worn, dated and dirty, and the furniture in the apartment was rubbish, soiled and damaged, worse than op shop quality. The appliances were old but working, though the microwave was rusty inside and unusable for health reasons. The window coverings didn’t block the light, and it was impossible to get a steady mix of hot and cold water in the shower. The floors were filthy on arrival. Midway through the stay, the included service clean amounted to changed linen and garbage out, nothing else. Management knew about these problems because we told reception.

The location is handy, close to the beach, grocery shops, and bus and tram stops. The rooms looked clean and well kept, but as soon as we arrived, my friend and I were hit by a really strong, unpleasant smell. We opened all the windows, but whenever we came back after being out all day, the smell was there again. It was bad enough that we bought air freshener and sprayed it every time we returned. One night we tried to watch TV, but the remote wouldn’t work properly. We weren’t sure if it needed new batteries, so my friend downloaded a TV remote app to use it. The bedroom fan shook violently whenever we turned it above 1, and still shook a little on 1. The shower temperature also changed suddenly and was hard to keep comfortable and steady. Maybe we just got unlucky with a bad room.

The heated spa was delicious, and Lucky at reception was a 10, good energy and really helpful. I had the best stay at Aruba Surf Resort. The apartment was spotless and comfortable, and the location was great, close to everything and the tram. I’ll definitely go back. Thanks for everything! 🥰

The apartment had plenty of space and was clean, with everything we needed. The staff were really helpful, and we could walk to Pacific Fair, the casino, and Oasis shops. We'd stay again.

It feels like a proper beach holiday here, with lovely character that's hard to find in the modern towers around now. The beach and shops are right nearby, and the staff made us feel so welcome. We’ll be back! xxx
