Bay Lodge Apartments

We needed somewhere at short notice and managed to book here. Lee, the manager, made us feel welcome and was both friendly and helpful. The beaches and shopping areas are close enough for a comfortable walk.

Lee and her team really go out of their way to help guests enjoy their stay. The smaller scale of Bay Lodge apartments gives the place a friendly, human feel. We had palms around our balcony and an open view of the pool. The heated spa beside the swimming pool was a lovely way to unwind after a busy holiday day, and everything felt clean and fresh. The tram is half a block away, the beach is one and a half blocks away, and there's a 24-hour 7/11 servo on the corner. Highly recommended.

It's so close to Surfers Paradise and two popular beaches, as well as Bumbles cafe, but still quiet and away from the bustle and entertainment. I always love staying here. The manager is welcoming and really cares that you enjoy your visit. The pool and tennis court are kept clean and tidy, and the heated spa is great, with warm water and forceful jets on aching muscles.

The location was good, and the room had plenty of space, a nice balcony, and laundry. But for the price, it wasn't worth staying here, and I wouldn't recommend it for a vacation. There were bugs everywhere. Tiny ants had infested the place, with no traps, and we also found a cockroach and other beetles. The bedroom was much hotter than the living room, where the AC was. Towels were limited, there was no hand towel, and just one dish cloth made washing up difficult. There's no linen service, you have to clean before leaving, and anything extra costs money, even more toilet paper. There was no elevator. After a very long day, we had to work out where our room was and haul our luggage around all the steps. There wasn't a garbage bin in the bedroom either. When I suggested adding dish towels at checkout, reception said there was a dryer for them.
