The spa wasn’t working, and we couldn’t get into the sauna because separate keys were needed for the toilet and sauna. After-hours support said they couldn’t help and told us to speak to reception the next day. Getting into the apartment was a mess too. Reception was meant to be open until 3pm, but nobody was there at check-in, so we called and waited a long time for help getting the keys after hours. Once we had them, they still wouldn’t let us into the apartment. I called support twice and was hung up on both times, with no callback. On the third call, Lisa rang me back after we were disconnected. I’d paid for a place I couldn’t access and waited outside for over an hour without prompt help. When I tried to complain, the after-hours team said they don’t handle complaints and I’d have to wait for reception the next day. Exceptionally poor service.

The ocean views are spectacular, and the location makes it easy to walk to everything. Still, we wouldn’t choose this place again. The apartment was old and dated, and most cooking utensils were damaged. The hand beater didn’t work at all. Several bulbs needed replacing and none of the clocks worked. When the cleaners came, they changed the towels and bed linen but left the bathrooms, floors and vacuuming undone. We messaged management with a list, including a broken ceiling fan, an unsafe clothes horse and sticky lollies under the couch. Eventually the rest of the cleaning was done. We were deeply unimpressed with the service, despite the excellent location. There are plenty of other places nearby.

The stay itself was enjoyable enough for budget accommodation. But it’s been over a week since checkout and the money held on our debit card still hasn’t been released. We were told it would happen once the room was cleaned, so either that wasn’t true or the room still hasn’t been cleaned after 9 days. I’ve tried several times to reach reception and had no luck.

We had a lovely stay, with incredible views and lots of space. It was quiet too, and the location puts you right in the middle of everything. We didn’t get to use many facilities, like the tennis court, but my son did use the gym and heated swimming pool.

The staff we spoke to were very helpful, and the barbecue and pool areas were great. The apartment itself seemed clean, but it was old and tired, nothing like the online photos of a one-bedroom unit. The building dates from 1984, and the bathroom and kitchen looked original. There was no air conditioning either, so it wasn’t what I expected.
