Breeze Inn Gold Coast

I lasted 20 minutes before checking out. The room was nothing like the photos: a black toilet bowl, mould everywhere, and just a single sheet with a thin Kmart blanket. It was so disgusting I can’t really describe it. Worse, the door wasn’t even shut or locked when I arrived, which felt unsafe. I’d have rather slept on a park bench. Would give zero stars if I could.

Good for budget travellers. The rooms are a bit small, but fair for the price, and there’s a shared kitchen. Service was good and Netflix is available too, so we watched a couple of movies with chilled beer. It’s centrally located, with beaches and nightlife in walking distance, the tram 30 seconds away and the beach about 2-3 minutes on foot.

The only real plus was being so close to Surfer's Paradise beach. We stayed in room 1 on October 4-5, 2025, and found it very unsanitary. My husband's bed had sheets that looked urine-stained, and the shower was so dirty our feet turned black with grime. We had to lay towels on the bathroom and bedroom floors. There was trash under the bed and mould in the shower. The exhaust fan didn’t work, which seems to explain the mould. My wife found a brown stain on her towel that was crusty and smelled of feces. Reception exchanged it when we went downstairs, but said little. There was also a note warning that steam could set off the smoke alarm unless the bathroom door was shut, with a $1400 fee for the client if it happened.

This was horrendous, and we left after waiting two hours for an extension cord that never came. We had to drive elsewhere to find accommodation. The stairs were dangerous for us, as both my husband and I use walking sticks. I fell while going up them. Inside, the bed was jammed against a wall, with no bedside table or chairs. The bathroom was disgusting, with black mould on the shower curtain, floor and tiles. Storage was just five coat hangers on a piece of dowel hooked to the wall. There was no kettle, jug or coffee-making equipment. This motel needs a serious overhaul or should close. I won’t recommend it.
