The location is lovely, but could use more seating and shade. The staff were chatting among themselves and seemed to put customers second. One young lad waiting tables was a gem, though, very helpful, polite and focused on customers. Hopefully he stays. I noticed the menu changed a while ago and thought they might bring back the signature eagle heights burger. No such luck. The good old burger has lost its egg, bacon, caramelised onion and all those delicious fillings. It’s now half the size and a quarter of the flavour, for a higher price. The portions are small too, and the chips were childlike.

The view over Surfers Paradise is genuinely impressive, and that’s the only reason we came for lunch. We didn’t stay long. You could come for the scenery and photos, but I’d eat somewhere else. The Roman carbonara was decent, but arrived cold, with the sauce not mixed through the pasta. The worst part was the steak. We ordered three bone-in rib-eye steaks with reef & beef sauce at $60 each. Every one was cold, chewy and tasteless, like it had been broiled and left sitting. Basic pub food at best, and not even good pub food. We should’ve sent them back, but the people who ordered them were too embarrassed to complain. I’m glad I didn’t order one. I absolutely wouldn’t recommend the steak. People mainly come to Eagle Heights Hotel for the sweeping Gold Coast views, but we expected solid pub-style food to go with the premium prices. There’s nothing to crow about with the food.

I only had a meal here, so I can’t rate the rooms. It’s been a while since I last came, and I was really impressed by the quality of the meals and service. Great place, people and service for a great price. Even at night the Gold Coast views are amazing. Do yourself a favour and come for a meal.

The view is amazing, but I’d go somewhere else for food. The meals are expensive and there wasn’t much food for the money. I had the mushrooms, just three of them, and they were watery and tasteless. The broccolini was very hard. There were 5 sprigs, 7 cherry tomatoes, a few potatoes and palmy cheese. It was cold and pretty disappointing for 25.00. The rib eye was well done instead of the medium rare we asked for, and tasted like it had been left out in the heat too long. I had two children with me, but one was over 12, so they wouldn’t include the drink with the children’s meal, even though the menu clearly showed a drink and didn’t say anything about an age limit. The children’s meals cost between 15 to 20 dollars. One had a burger and the other steak, and there were hardly any chips. The website says children’s meals include a drink and ice cream. They had no sausages available either. I wouldn’t eat here again. It’s really poor value and the food quality was poor.

🚨 FOOD POISONING 🚨 DO NOT COME HERE My 7 year old son got food poisoning after eating here. While eating his burger he said it tasted bad. I checked the meat and it was RAW. I showed it to a staff member, who said “oh yeah, it is raw,” but didn’t apologise or offer to remake it. Our drinks were disgusting, the staff were rude and the whole experience was HORRIBLE. After my son became extremely ill, I emailed the duty manager to complain and asked for a full refund. The manager was EXTREMELY rude and refunded only my son’s meal, ignoring my other complaints about the awful experience. I’ve never seen a child so sick. This was the worst experience, and I’ll keep pos my review on every platform so nobody comes here. Raw food, RUDE STAFF!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
