Royal Palm Resort

We spent three nights at the Royal palm. The apartment was presented nicely and very clean. It would be good to steam the carpets, though I might be extra sensitive to smells. The amenities are amazing, and the kids had a great time. We'll definitely come back.

My mother and uncle stayed in 24C on 24-26 October 2025 and were happy with the facilities. My family of four adults had 22C, and we were extremely disappointed. The two-bedroom superior apartment shown in the website photos was miles apart in quality and value from what we got. The photos show air conditioning in every living area, but ours had none. The listing should say that some units lack it so guests can ask for one that has it. There were problems all over the apartment: the kettle lid was stuck and we needed a knife to open it; the main bedroom remote kept coming apart; mould ran down the back of the ensuite door; and the ensuite shower door couldn't open properly because the toilet blocked it. A larger person might not have been able to use it. The curtains were filthy, the outlet between the lounge and kitchen didn't work and pulled slightly away from the wall, and the kitchen clock was dead. The bedroom side tables were stained and grubby, plasterwork behind the entrance door was unfinished, and the portable cooler in the spare-room cupboard sounded like a speedboat, making it impossible to sleep. Two weeks after emailing the resort, I still haven't had a reply. The poor service capped off a very poor apartment.

We spent a week at Royal Palm Resort over Christmas, and it was spotless and peaceful even in peak season. Each morning the groundskeeper hosed down the pool area and got the BBQs ready for families. The staff were friendly, and even the long-term residents made us feel welcome, as if holidaymakers were part of the place's usual rhythm. Our lower-floor apartment still had a wide-open view over the pool, dunes and ocean, with a Hawaiian-style feel. It ended up feeling like home, with family only minutes away, and we had no issues. We'd easily return. The resort is around 40 years old, but clearly cared for. The body corporate seems to manage its budget wisely, with fresh paint, immaculate gardens and landscaping, and good amenities that aren't overdone. The refreshed bathrooms were especially nice, with modern finishes and excellent showers. For the time of year, we thought it was great value.

Step straight onto the beach from the great location, assuming you can pull yourself away from the pool. Cafes and other services are an easy stroll, and it's a short drive from the airport. The M1 is easy to reach if you're travelling north or south.
