We paid $2,800 for seven days at the Mantra Crowne and were extremely disappointed. Construction work was really disruptive, and nobody mentioned it beforehand. The mattress was dirty and flat, and the sheet kept coming off, so we woke up to that dirty mattress every day. They sent an ID verification request at the last minute while we were off a plane with kids and a newborn. We'd already spent an hour driving around looking for the key safe and trying to contact them. Everything was left to the last minute, as if we were expected to sort it all out right then. The apartments are careless, run down, and pricey. Don't waste your time.
Do not book here. The bathroom and toilet weren't private, and there was a peep hole. I complained on my first day and provided photos, but nothing was fixed. They just said they'd double checked before I arrived and it was good, taking no action or accountability. The place was disgusting. They call it Airbnb and serviced apartments, but it wasn't serviced before we arrived, beyond replacing the basics. Very disappointed. Don't waste your money, book somewhere else.
Awful.
The interior was clean. That's the only plus. I booked through Agoda expecting Qube resort and used the Qube building, but the apartment was actually operated by Serain residences, not Qube. Agoda calls it 'Qube broadbeach,' and I wish this had been clearly described as "Serain residences on Qube". I wouldn't have booked had I known. Seeing "Serain" in the check-in email confused me, as I'd never encountered accommodation run this way before. It also led to a lot of inconvenience. There was no reception for my room because it was leased by Serain in the Qube building, so I couldn't use Qube's reception. Agoda's policy hid the online check-in link in the email, so I couldn't check in ahead of time. I planned to do it in person, but the door was shut. I pressed the call button downstairs, and the Qube staff told me to contact Serain because they weren't affiliated. As a traveler without a local-call SIM, I had to borrow someone's phone, and still nobody answered. I've never stayed somewhere without reception before. Check-in had to be done online, with a $300 deposit, and both check-in and checkout were at a supermarket about a three-minute walk away since Qube reception wasn't available. Most upsetting, my deposit still hadn't been returned about two weeks after checkout. When I contacted the accommodation, they said they'd kept all $300 because of a stain on the table that couldn't be removed. They sent a photo, but I couldn't tell if it was even from the room I stayed in, and I hadn't done anything that could have stained the table. Even if it had happened accidentally, surely they should have told me as soon as they found it after checkout. I wasn't in Australia anymore, and was I just meant to accept their claim that I had to pay? I suspect the photo might have been from another room. If they'd told me right away, I might have been able to see it and acknowledge it myself. Instead, they only blamed me after I asked about the deposit, which felt rude and unjust. I contacted them directly and asked Agoda to help, but my requests were completely ignored. The worst accommodation.
