The receptionists were very rude and didn’t care about the tenants. This was the worst, dirtiest place I’ve ever seen. The weekly rent was very expensive, but everything in the unit was old and broken. We got it unclean, full of rubbish and cockroaches. The furniture was so old and had nests, it felt like there was no hope of getting rid of them. Really, really bad.

Great location and management, but our room needed some TLC. The bathroom sink taps needed repairing, and the air conditioning needed cleaning.

We weren’t told there was no parking on site. The car park opposite costs $20 a day, which was really disappointing. I’m not happy and will certainly report it to Booking.com.

I rented an apartment for over a year and had constant trouble with Greg. I found him abusive, dishonest and rude, and he tried to keep my security deposit (Bond). Twice, he tried to evict us because the owners were coming on holiday. The second time, we sought legal advice because we felt harassed. The apartments he rents are dirty and poorly maintained, and thousands of students live there in overcrowded conditions. There was drug dealing outside our apartment, and a fire after drugs were being cooked there. On another occasion, two dealers had a brutal fight in the lobby. Many dealers live there, and robberies happen constantly in the car park. Greg knows about all this and does nothing. It seems the only thing that matters to this manager is filling his wallet. A horrible, dangerous experience.

The units advertised as two bedrooms are actually one bedroom plus a study, and the price is abusive for what you get. The facilities were very dirty too. Management were always rude when we had questions or requests. Living at surfers plaza was hard, and I definitely don’t recommend it.
