The Sands

They cancelled my booking at the last minute after taking an extra payment by bank transfer. It was an extremely stressful and unprofessional experience. This place doesn’t deserve even one star. Don’t book here.

The pool looked pretty nice, and having a free YouTube Premium account on the TV was a nice touch. I also liked how close everything was, with the shopping centre just a two-minute walk away. But the service was disappointing. The lock had been changed when I went to collect the key, and the emergency phone wasn’t working, so I waited outside the lock office for two hours. There were mould spots and rips on the balconies and outside walls. Two minutes into my shower, the hot water cut out and wouldn’t come back on. On my last night, security said the pool was closing but told us we could stay a bit longer. When I got out, the door was locked and the workers had gone home, so I had to climb over the fence and hurt my feet. The pool and location were good, but reception and service were bad.

Our family of three loved the stay, especially being right across the road from the beach and having a designated parking space. The apartment is older, but it was clean, affordable and had everything we needed. The master bedroom was huge, with a balcony and beautiful views, and the dining room’s glass windows looked out over the ocean. The kitchen was fully equipped too. A great spot for a holiday.

The view and location are great, but the room was a real disappointment. There were carpet stains, and a dirty towel was still hanging on the door when we checked in. The glass doors were so dirty that previous guests had written “clean me” on them. One room’s light and fan didn’t work, and the lock didn’t feel secure. With the party scene nearby, I wouldn’t choose this place for a stay with children. I wouldn’t stay again or recommend it.
