The Shore Apartments

The spa was good, and the Wi-Fi is finally unlimited. The location also strikes a nice balance, close enough to Surfers but far enough away to be much quieter. The apartments are getting very dated and need a refresh, though. The sofa and carpet had stains and burns, and the bedding was old. Only one apartment per floor can really be called ocean view. Having to take out your own rubbish felt excessive.

Great location and view, but the outside of the windows needs cleaning. The self-serviced apartment was nice, though there was no air conditioning, just a ceiling fan. A few lights didn’t work, and there were minor upkeep issues around the doors and edges.

The spa, pool and view from our room were lovely, and with the fans we stayed cool enough without air conditioning. The hotel was great apart from a few frustrating extras. For two people, they provide only two towels for the whole week, so you have to rent more and buy extra toilet paper. Laundry is advertised, but it costs $4 a load in coins, and getting cash with an international bank card was a real mission. You also have to buy detergent at the supermarket. The free Wi-Fi allowance is only 500MB a day for both of us to share, and we used it up almost straight away.

The apartment was clean and safe, with everything I needed, and the price was just right for me. It’s a little dated and worn, but I’d happily stay again. The 8th-floor apartment had wonderful views in every direction, with plenty of windows to enjoy them. The location is great too, right by a G:Link stop and just seconds from the beach.
