This was my first trip to the Gold Coast, and I have lovely memories of it. The apartment was very nice, and I’m grateful for the help you gave us. It meant a lot to me. I checked out at 10 a.m. this morning, 2026/02/24, and followed your instructions by hanging the room key and card on the wall beside the front door. The house was cleaned at the same time. The reception team were great from the start, and they even upgraded us to an ocean view room at no charge. We stayed over Christmas while passing through surfers, and had an amazing time. The room was spotless, with all the amenities we needed, especially in the kitchen. Would definitely recommend.

The apartment was filthy. Dust balls were scattered around, the cutlery clearly hadn’t been washed properly, and the shower pressure was so weak it was barely more than a drizzle. We also kept waiting as long as ten minutes for the elevators. Doors in the building opened on their own at random, which was unsettling and made the place seem poorly maintained. The service was awful from the moment we arrived at Star Residence. Reception staff were rude and dismissive, with no greeting or effort to help. I asked if the gym had towels and got a blunt “no.” When I asked if I’d said something wrong, the staff member shrugged and walked away. It was disrespectful and embarrassing, unlike anything I’ve experienced from hotel staff. This was one of the worst stays of my life. For somewhere claiming a resort style, the lack of cleanliness and care was shocking. Rude staff, a dirty room, long elevator waits, and basic maintenance concerns made the stay a disaster. I’d tell anyone considering The Star Residence to spend their money and time elsewhere.

The city view from our room was even better after we moved to the 51st floor. We’d first been given a room on what I think was the 31st floor, where the air conditioning made a worrying noise. Staff knew about the ongoing problem, and thankfully arranged a room swap. The location is great, in Broadbeach south, near Pacific fair shopping mall and about a ten-minute walk from the beach. The rooms are nicely laid out, and the view is fantastic both day and night. Staff had a casual manner, and some answers to our questions weren’t very helpful. There’s room for improvement here. I might stay again, but I’m in no rush.
