X Kirra Apartments

The apartment was super clean, comfortable, and nicely decorated. The reception ladies were kind and professional, and the location was superb, with nice restaurants and a beautiful beach across the road. We were very happy with our stay and would love to come back. We stayed two nights for a birthday and booked a two-bedroom “panorama view” apartment through Expedia. The room was at the back of the building, so it wasn’t really an ocean-view room, just a view of the ocean from the balcony. Don’t expect an ocean view if you book “panorama view.”

We spent six fabulous nights in a two-bedroom X Kirra apartment. Check-in through AH was seamless, and the receptionist was friendly and helpful when we needed something. The location is hard to beat, with cafés, bars, and restaurants nearby and stunning Kirra Beach across the road. We’ll be back!

The staff were lovely and got me an early check-in so I could get ready for a funeral. Check-in was quick and easy, which I really appreciated. I had a clean, modern two-bedroom panoramic apartment on a high floor with great views. The location is fantastic, right across from the beach and close to restaurants and cafés. A great experience, and I’d highly recommend X Kirra Apartments.

The apartment itself was clean and comfortable, with an amazing view, and the location would have been perfect in normal weather. It’s a shame we won’t return to X Kirra, because we really loved the place. We don’t mind rain, but the possibility of a once-in-a-hundred-year cyclone affecting roads and flights made us anxious throughout the trip, especially with our young child. The wind was so loud and intense at night on level 12 that I struggled to sleep. We got one good day despite the wind, then a day and a half of miserable rain. We left a day early because we were afraid our flight might be cancelled. We asked to move our dates to the end of the month because of cyclone Alfred, giving five days’ notice, outside the cancellation policy. Airbnb showed lots of dates available in March, but management wouldn’t change our booking. We were left out $1,400 and couldn’t afford to reschedule the holiday. I felt they put profit ahead of customer satisfaction. In response to the owner: when we requested the change on Airbnb for room 1204, there was still plenty of March availability to move us to. Reception never mentioned a credit to stay in November. I was told there’d be no refund and no change, and that I could cancel entirely to see whether they could rent the room to someone else, with no guarantee. I also explained this was our babymoon: I was 30 weeks pregnant, it was our last chance to travel for a while, and we were coming with our two-year-old. We were worried about our safety in the cyclone. None of that led to any option except cancelling without a refund. That’s why I felt our safety and satisfaction came second to profit.
