Windsurfer Resort

We booked seven nights for three people, but got only one roll of toilet paper, with no tissues, shampoo, or shower gel. The duvet was yellow and dirty, and there were cigarette butts left on the balcony. The kitchen cabinet was dirty too, and the wardrobe was dusty enough to show it hadn't been wiped in a long time. The kettle was white outside but brown inside and looked mouldy. There was parking, though many spaces were reserved. Bring your own toilet paper and tissues. The booking site's reviews looked good, but I found the Google reviews more accurate.

In April 2026, construction of a multistorey building next door was underway at subfloor level, with a long way still to go. The workers start at 6:30 in the morning.

We were volunteering for three days and would have left if we'd had another place to stay. The sheets were yellow and had hair underneath them, with footprints on top, and the quilt was stained. There was black mould on the bathroom ceiling, live cockroaches, and stained couches hidden under a cover. The pillows and blankets were disgusting, and the main bedroom door wouldn't close. The hotel said the linen was steam cleaned and that it treated the building every six months, so dead bugs could be found. They said the bathroom stains came from previous guests not opening the window while showering. After we returned, the bathroom had been treated and aired out, but nobody told us, and the bedroom door had been left unlocked. The treatment affected our allergies. We contacted them again to ask for a room move and why they hadn't warned us about treating the bathroom. They didn't reply, and we've still had no apology or offer of a refund for the inconvenience.

The doona cover smelled of smoke, and the room had an unpleasant smell when we arrived. Staff said it was ready even though we were early. We had no toilet paper, tea towels, sugar, or teabags, and I had to ask for another bin liner. Getting the TV to work took at least five minutes each time. I should have checked the reviews first.
