O'Shea's Royal Hotel

Dinner was spoiled by how rude the staff were. My husband and I were given part of a meal we hadn’t ordered. We pointed it out as soon as it arrived, but had to pay extra to get what we wanted. I showed them their own menu, which they clearly didn’t know, and the manager they called was just as rude and hadn’t noticed what it said either. They should fix the menu instead of expecting customers to pay for their mistakes. I was quite upset and very disappointed by their attitude.

It was good value, though it’s the only place I’ve been where the showers and toilets weren’t in the room and the shared facilities were down the hall.

The food was amazing. We had crumbed prawns with sweet potato chips and salad, Barramundi with vegetables and chips, and GF mud cake with ice cream. All of it was among the best I’ve tasted. The room was lovely, comfortable, clean and very fancy, and I slept well before my work trip performance at Goondiwindi Gormet festival for the kids. The staff were friendly and full of good vibes despite being clearly flat out. They were patient with us about parking, check-in, food, and even our dessert order just after the kitchen had closed. We’d driven four hours from Brisbane and were running late. Thanks for a great meal and night’s sleep. I was refreshed and ready to put on a good show in the morning! We really enjoyed our visit. The courtesy bus took us there and back to our accommodation, so we didn’t need to worry about the car. Dinner was delicious, especially the Mushroom and Steak Pie, which was full of flavour and magnificent. The rump steak was tasty and so soft and tender, and I loved the fresh vegetables. The meal photos don’t show how big the serves are. After dinner we moved to the sports bar to watch the footy.
