The place looks freshly painted, and the reception staff were friendly and helpful. Our room was clean and the bed comfortable. It’s very affordable, with a communal kitchen, microwave and basic free breakfast options. I’d recommend it for a short stay.

I wish I’d read more reviews before booking. The reception smelled strongly of sickly vapes, and the man behind the counter seemed to be vaping inside behind the desk. He was initially nice enough, though he told me to move my car by a metre despite there being no allocated spaces and no other cars on the whole street. The room had a loud, constant electrical buzz. When I asked about a quieter room, he mansplained that it was a “normal sound.” I was six months pregnant, had just driven seven hours and really needed sleep. I asked whether I could get a refund and find somewhere more suitable. He immediately got aggressive and rude, saying it was a no-cancellation room. Only after I said I’d leave feedback did he offer a refund, which I never received. I’ve never had such yuck bad vibes at a place. I’m happy to lose $130 to never deal with them again.

We stayed at Black Sheep Motel in Goulburn on the way from Melbourne to Sydney, and it made a great stop. The price was very reasonable, the room spotless and well maintained, and the staff friendly and helpful. Quiet, clean and good value, it made the trip comfortable and easy. Highly recommended for anyone travelling between Melbourne and Sydney.

A nice little place to sleep, and reception handled my late booking well. They sent texts and called to make sure everything was okay, which I appreciated. The shower window was awkward for me at 6ft4. I could literally see people walking past while I was showering. It’s not a huge issue, and probably wouldn’t matter to anyone under maybe 6ft2, but a security screen or something could help. You also have to park on the street. Other than those things, everything was great. Thanks.
