Posthouse Motor Lodge

We’ve stayed here many times while travelling between VIC and NSW, but barely slept this time. Even though the place was mostly empty, we were put in a corner room where workers came and went all night. Vehicles pulled in at 2am, with beeping, slamming doors and noisy plastic wheels rolling across the car park. At 6am there was more beeping, banging and men talking. The owner wasn’t apologetic and basically seemed to say we should put up with it. Sleep matters for avoiding road accidents, and it was poor judgment to put us here when quieter empty rooms were available at the other end. Be aware that a train reaches Goulburn at 2am, and people arriving at this hotel can be noisy on their way to their rooms.

Really enjoyed our stay. The rooms are clean and updated, with a new bathroom. The air con is quiet and works well, the staff are friendly, and the location is great.

We had a room at the back, away from the road, so there was very little noise. The bed was comfortable, the private shower room was in great condition, and there were plenty of amenities. The fridge was a little noisy, and the room had a mild smell, but I got used to it pretty quickly, unlike at other places. Reception staff were lovely. There’s a restaurant on site, though it was a bit pricey so we ate elsewhere. Good location, with lots of food options a short walk away. I’d stay again.

The in-house Thai restaurant was great, and the Posthouse was the best motel we’ve stayed in. Our room and bathroom were very clean, the bed was comfortable, and the sheets spotless. We really enjoyed our stay and highly recommend it.
