Hotel Granya

We loved seeing greenery and farm animals grazing outside the windows while we stayed warm by the wood fire. The animals were very friendly and wandered around the lodge during the day. Our family of four, two adults and two children under 12, all had a great time. The kids roasted marshmallows over the camp fire, picked fruit from the orchard and collected eggs from the coop. We’d happily come back, and I’d highly recommend it for families with kids.

The area is beautifully quiet, a nice break from the hustle and bustle, and the staff and dogs were friendly. The hotel has only been reopening gradually after being closed for years, so there’s still quite a bit to do. Some parts are under construction.

The night sky was magnificent, and we actually made a deliberate trip to the area just to stay here. It’s a lovely secluded farmstay with cute animals, especially the two ponies my wife adored. Bridget and Gary clearly take pride in the place. The little details stood out, including handwritten cards introducing the farmstay and naming each animal. I’d highly recommend staying here if you’re in the area.

The cottages are lovely, the views are amazing, and the animals are very cute. Bridge and Gary were wonderful hosts. Bring your own food if you’re staying while the pub is closed, since the farm is isolated.
