St Catherine's on Park

Housekeeping was unreliable: I put the “clean my room” sign out, but nobody cleaned the room. With reception so hard to reach, there wasn't a good way to raise the problem. The breakfast they charge for was packaged muesli and yoghurt left in the room for you to prepare yourself. That didn't feel like an acceptable paid breakfast arrangement. At St Catherine’s on Park, Perth, service felt careless and close to nonexistent. There's no proper way to contact reception from the room, and often no one available to help. Reception is completely absent on weekends and only open limited hours on weekdays. I've stayed in hotels and serviced apartments in several countries and haven't had hospitality this poor before. The lack of staff and service, the breakfast setup and the unreliable cleaning made the stay extremely frustrating. I wouldn't recommend it to anyone expecting basic hospitality or service.

A quiet night's sleep and easy access to UWA make this a good choice. It's clean, the staff are helpful, and the facilities work well for a longer stay. Cooking is easy, and there's a huge wardrobe.

Although it's mainly a student residence, apartments are also available for short stays. Mine was large, with a comfortable room, oven and small kitchen. Breakfast is served in the dining hall.

I held a seminar here and found everything neat and tidy. The staff were friendly and helpful without being intrusive. It was very good.
