I spend three to six months a year working remotely as a contractor, and Canberra Furnished Apartments has become my home away from home in Canberra. The rooms are comfortable, self contained and very clean, with competitive prices and a central spot near the City. The office staff are helpful and accommodating when they can be, even with my last minute requests. It's the only place I book now, and I'd highly recommend it to anyone thinking of staying here.

I left early because the room had a terrible musty smell of mould. I thought airing it might help, but it lingered even with the door open, gave me headaches and made staying very unpleasant. With a young child, I didn't want to remain there. They charged me anyway when I asked to leave early. I also asked to speak with the director, but was told they were overseas on holiday and wouldn't discuss it. Despite the owner's comment, this was definitely Canberra Furnished Accommodation. The room itself was presented well.

A month after we left, management charged another $52 to my card, saying I had exceeded their weekly electricity allowance in one two-month period. We were there almost six months. They put us in one of the coldest south-facing rooms over winter, and the only heating we used was their reverse-cycle air conditioner. We weren't allowed to read the meters ourselves, so couldn't check the usage. After paying a very large amount in rent for those six months, that felt stingy and left a sour taste. The place itself was nice, modern and secure, and the local staff were friendly and helpful.

My bright, cosy studio apartment at McMillan Gardens was very comfortable for my five-month stay. Sarah, Tracy, Kristin and Jenni were friendly and quick to respond when I needed anything.

The staff were friendly and always helpful, and after the first few days I felt right at home. My room was very clean on arrival, the beds were comfortable, and the location was good. I'd recommend it to friends and family.
