Wallaby Hotel

Stopped in for lunch with my wife and kids today. It’s a nice-looking little place with some history. Since it was Sunday on a long weekend, we thought we might have to wait, but the meals came out promptly and were all very nice. The staff went above and beyond to make sure we were happy. We’ll definitely be back.

I walked into the pub the other day and Nadia, the black-haired manager, treated me terribly right away. When I asked for water, she argued with me and spoke condescendingly about how to order it properly. Then she lectured me about using my manners. Her attitude toward me seemed completely uncalled for, and the customer service was awful. She should be disciplined immediately. If she’s behind the bar, I’d leave the pub and go somewhere better.

I enjoyed the visit. There’s a nice bit of history and I liked the setup. The Barramundi was great, and the playground was a good size for my mate’s kids, with tables where parents can eat and keep an eye on them. It has pokies, a restaurant, pub and hotel, and the staff were very friendly.

I used to come to the Wallaby often because it was a great place to hang out, especially on Sundays when there was a band. I dropped in this Sunday for a quick drink with my girlfriend, but there was no live music and the greeting and service were average at best. A house wine and tap beer came to over $28. The beer tasted awful, as if the lines hadn't been cleaned, and the wine was hard to drink too. Maybe that’s why there weren’t many people there. It’s not like the old days, and I won’t be back under this management.
