The cottages are only a few metres from a lovely stream flowing down from Mountain View, and ours had a nice little deck for warmer days. Inside, there’s a roomy lounge and dining space with a wood fire and a comfy chair, plus a small but perfectly adequate kitchenette and a table for two. The bedroom and ensuite were fine, with amenities provided, and the electric heater warmed the place quickly. Crabtree Cottages are at Grove, a few kilometres north of Huonville, where there’s good shopping and cafes. They’d left a small dram of cask port and a couple of chocolates, which was a nice touch. Telstra reception is terrible here, though, and there’s no WiFi. I think they should seriously consider installing it.

The Loft was comfortable, and we had a very peaceful stay. We really appreciated the extra bits provided, like cereal, bread, milk, alcohol and chocolates. Thanks for a wonderful visit, Garry, and thanks, Crabtree House!

Upstairs, there’s a seating area with lovely views across the valley and mountain range, and even the shower has a view. It’s a great base for exploring around Huonville. The property is quiet and beautifully kept, and the place itself is spacious and well equipped. Definitely recommend it.

There was fresh orange juice, a carton of milk and three kinds of breakfast cereal in the rooms. They also had books written by the owner, and they were a good read. The accommodation was very nice.

We’d happily come back to this beautiful little cottage. It had everything we needed, plus port and chocolates. The host was lovely and friendly, and their very sweet elderly dog went all out to greet us.
