Gundagai, home of the dog on the Tucker box, was ironically the least pet friendly town I came across in 3000km of travel. I rang 10 motels before finding this one. Many other country towns seem to understand that grey nomads with fur babies need places to stay, and some have even put in fenced dog parks. Gabriel Motor Inn is nice, well located and well priced compared with the few other pet friendly options in Gundagai. I was lucky to get its one pet friendly room. It was huge, with two balconies and outdoor furniture, armchairs, a dining table, microwave, biscuits, shampoos and good quality fixtures and fittings. The bed was great, and the female staff member was so kind and lovely. There's a lovely park just behind, and it's on the main street, a block from food, a pub, supermarket and gift shops.

The host at reception was really friendly, and checkout was easy. For an overnight stop between Melbourne and Sydney, this is excellent value. The room was spacious, the bed comfortable, and ours had undercover parking. There's a Woolies right nearby on Sheridan street, plus a microwave, cutlery, kettle and light refreshments in the room. The toilet looked newly renovated. The small TV was only big enough to watch from one side of the room. Rooms facing Sheridan street get some road noise, though Gundagai is quiet at night so it wasn't much. I'd recommend it for interstate drivers looking for somewhere to rest.

The rooms are really spacious and the bathroom is amazing, especially the shower. Woolies is only a minute's walk away too. A really nice, well located place, and we got heaps for our money. I highly recommend it.

The room had plenty of space and was well equipped, with air conditioning. There's lots of parking, including some undercover spots. It's right on the main street, two doors down from Woolworths and the two local pubs for meals. Highly recommended for a night or a longer stay.

It was really quiet despite being right on the main street. The place was very clean and modern, with a park directly across the road for the kids. The supermarket was next door, and there was a restaurant beside it. Highly recommend.
