The staff were fantastic, always friendly and up for a chat. As for the pub food, it’s hands down the best in town, which is saying something. My brother was visiting from out of town, and we were both really happy with the food and the atmosphere.

The dining room had a lovely feel, and the seating was comfortable. I really enjoyed the steak, it was amazing. The cutlery was nice too. I’d recommend it!

Michael and Tiarnna were hospitable, and we’ll see them again next year. The staff were friendly and very accommodating, and six of us tried different meals across two nights. Every meal was excellent, well worth coming for dinner. Our ensuite rooms were basic but renovated, reasonably clean, comfortable, and fairly priced for overnight stays. The rooms without bathrooms were fine too, though the shared bathrooms are dated and could use a deep clean. I’ve seen shared bathrooms in much worse shape. This old building was rebuilt in 1947 after a fire. There are shared spaces, including a lounge with TV, a common kitchen, and a balcony. The rooms felt secure, and we had no trouble with keys or security. We parked on the main street to double down on security.

The manager was extremely obliging. I found the older-style rooms charming, and they were spotlessly clean. Very economical as well.
