Mountain View Motel Queenstown

The Wi-Fi was very poor, and the motel itself felt basic and poorly maintained. I stayed in a two-room family unit near the town entrance. It was meant to have a fully equipped kitchen, and had a microwave, small cooking oven, and refrigerator, but the sink faucet was completely loose and unstable. There was dish soap but no sponge or kitchen towel. The main room had an air conditioner, while the second had only a heater. Cleanliness was reasonable, and there were enough bathroom supplies. The owners communicated by phone and left the key in a safe. Parking was beside the room, but you have to climb three steps to get inside, worth bearing in mind with heavy luggage.

Bad weather made camping too difficult, so we needed somewhere at the last minute. I was relieved this little motel had a room for one night when most other places required two. Check-in was easy even though we arrived late, communication was good, and the host was friendly. The room had been warmed up and was neat and tidy. Basic, cosy, and really comfortable. We were grateful for a warm, dry night's rest. Thank you!

This wasn't a great place to stay with kids, and the rooms weren't very clean. The bathroom door was damaged and wouldn't lock while we used the toilet or shower, which was really annoying. The booking site says there's a kitchen, but look carefully at the photos before booking. It's not a proper kitchen, just a hot plate, oven, and microwave with some restrictions. If everything is used at once, all the rooms will lose power. You also have to use the bathroom sink for cooking, which I personally didn't like.

For the price, the facilities felt inconsistent and below what we expected. One bathroom had no hot water at the sink, which shouldn't happen at this price. One room did have a proper kitchen bench and sink, but the second had neither, making it very inconvenient. They did provide basic items like toothbrushes and shaving razors, which we appreciated.
