We’ve already booked another overnight stay. The welcome at reception was lovely, and our small dog was no trouble at all, which made the pet-friendly policy feel real. The motel was spotless and in a convenient spot. There was lots of hot water, plus plenty of tea and coffee, fresh milk and biscuits.

The room walls barely block sound, so a couple of drunken idiots in rooms 9 & 10 kept the whole place awake for three hours after coming back from the pub at 11. No extra charge for that, I suppose. The young couple running the place seemed a little out of their depth, though they were friendly enough. The TV was out at first but got fixed; the WiFi never did. The aircon kept the room warm on cold nights. Otherwise it was very basic but usable. The bathroom had been partly modernised, was clean, and had a good hot shower, though the dispenser was empty of soap and shampoo. There’s no food on site beyond free tea and coffee and a basic toast and cereal breakfast. A cafe next door is decent when it happens to be open, but its hours are sporadic and it’s never open Monday. Rooms have a jug, toaster and microwave, but only glasses, cups and teaspoons, no plates, dishes, knives or forks. The sheets were clean, but there were obvious big stains on the bedcovers. The rooms were generally clean, provided you didn’t check inside cupboards or drawers.

We were especially glad to have covered parking with all the snow. The place is handy for shops, restaurants and other amenities, and we had a great stay. Thanks very much, we’ll be back. 😊

Bring your own milk and toilet paper if you stay here. We were there for two nights, and the room wasn't tidied or given fresh towels. We ended up making the bed ourselves, and there was no light outside the room.
